Celebrating The Haven's 25th Year
Welcome to the first Haven News Update of 2008, our 25th anniversary year. We are planning a year of celebrating our past and looking forward with excitement to the future. Since 1983, our courses have offered many thousands of people the pleasure and challenge of personal discovery. Come and join us in this very special year!
A New Year, A New Shen Online
The new Shen Online is here and it's full of great stuff. You can read articles marking our 25th anniversary by John Shields, Ellery Littleton and Maria Gomori, as well as an article by Gwen Ewan on the power of group work. You can listen to an interview with our founders, Bennet Wong and Jock McKeen. You can read about this year's Reflections and our honouring of Ben and Jock - and then you can see the slideshow! If you have recently finished a Come Alive, there's a special section for you - and for anyone else who is interested - focusing on integrating your learning at The Haven back out in the world.
This is a short News Update, because there's more than enough to read in the Shen Online. If you have trouble finding it, go to www.haven.ca and click on the Shen link on the home page.

We are hoping to be able to provide a DVD of the ceremony. If you would like a copy (or more than one), please contact Rachel Davey by email at programs(at)haven.ca by the end of January. There will be a charge per DVD, to cover the cost of production.

What's Coming Up
There's lots to look forward to as we move into February. We finish January on a high with our second Come Alive of the year and Body, Breath and Energy - and there's still time to sign up for either course. February is an exciting mix of courses. New to our schedule are IBP Professional Training Year 1 (to register contact Gerry or Judith Fewster at fewster@seaside.net) and Heather Ferris, who leads Practical Spirituality for the first time. Skills 3: Gestalt Plus is a new addition to our Skills series, led by Gwen Ewan, The Haven's Director of Education. We have two courses for couples - Couples in Conflict, and Passion for Couples, which could be the best Valentine's Day gift ever! We also have a Come Alive and we look forward to welcoming another Phase I group towards the end of the month. Last, but certainly not least, Dr Phil Winkelmans offers his 5-day Intuitive Healing course.
What better way to enjoy a cold, grey month than spend some of it at The Haven!
Please note Transformation Tango will not be offered in 2008 as Gwen Spinks is unfortunately no longer available.
We also celebrate the much-anticipated return of Simply Touching, offered by Elfi Dillon-Shaw, from 3-6 August, 2008.
