Symposium Offer Logo

Bring a Friend to the Vancouver Symposium and receive $100 in Haven credits.

The Haven Symposium is an ideal opportunity to showcase the work of The Haven Institute to friends and family, without having to travel to Gabriola Island.

We know that the vast majority of people come to our courses on the recommendation of someone like you, who has already been to The Haven. We want to support you in your efforts, by inviting you to bring someone who has not been to The Haven to the 2007 Vancouver Symposium. If you and a friend or family member register in advance for the two-day Symposium package, you will receive $100 of Haven credits for tuition, meals or accommodation. You can use this credit yourself or give it as a gift it to the person you bring, to spend on their first visit to The Haven. $100 dollars credit buys one day of Come Alive tuition; a day and a half of (mid season) standard accommodation and meals; or three days of delicious Haven breakfasts, lunches and dinners!

NOTE: Available only by advance registration for the two day symposium package. Booking can be made on line, by email or by phone until Wednesday April 11. Limit of one $100 credit per person. Credit valid for one year. Credits will be sent out after the Symposium.

FREE and EXCLUSIVE SHOWING of the movie Peaceful Warrior - Friday April 13 after the keynote address.

'Watch it and be transformed!' This was Eckhart Tolle's exuberant response to the movie Peaceful Warrior, based on Dan Millman's most famous book, Way of the Peaceful Warrior. So, it is with great excitement that we invite you to an exclusive, free showing of this entertaining and thought-provoking movie, after Dan's keynote address on Friday April 13 at the Marriott Pinnacle. There can be no better opportunity to integrate Dan's words of wisdom, and we are extremely grateful to Dan for allowing us this opportunity. Peaceful Warrior, starring Nick Nolte and Scott Mechlowicz, is a moving tale about the power of the human spirit. It was released in selected movie theatres in Canada late last year and opens nationally in the U.S. at the end of March. Don't miss this opportunity to see it at The Haven Symposium!

For more information, and to see the movie trailer, go to www.thepeacefulwarriormovie.com.

DAN MILLMAN'S KEYNOTE ADDRESS

Dan Millman Dan will be speaking about'Laws of Life, Laws of Reality: a Peaceful Warrior's Approach to Living Wisely and Well'.

Dan's vision beautifully mirrors that of the Haven; that in some way each of us strives to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life, and that the challenges of everyday life provide us with a rich opportunity to explore our personal leadership potential in the real world.

Dan's work encompasses areas such as 'life-education', enhanced wellness, stress release, higher awareness and perspective -- essentially, how to live and lead a more meaningful and purposeful life in the real world - keeping one's head in the clouds and feet on the ground. With his warm-hearted and practical wisdom Dan will share principles, perspectives and practices on how to move beyond fear and self-doubt into a life of courage and compassion with a peaceful heart and a warrior spirit. We believe Dan's work has direct, practical applications in everyday life, at work and at home. Dan will take us on a journey, beyond lofty philosophy, abstract concepts, and idealistic notions to remind us of what we "already know on deeper levels but might have forgotten".

One of the central themes of what I call the 'peaceful warrior's way' is balance - embracing and integrating apparent opposites such as East and West, faith and reason, flesh and spirit, work on self and contribution to society. We can have our head in the clouds, but our feet on the ground, seeking transcendent awareness while practicing compassion in our relationships. 'Higher knowledge' may have intrinsic value, but it is wise to ground it in everyday life - the arena of our growth - Dan Millman

Gwen Ewan PhotoSelf Compassion with Gwen Ewan
When we strive to be who we "should be" we tend to lose touch with who we are, and become self hating. To be a good friend to oneself, to be self-compassionate, is a different path. We have choices in our lives, some of which move us towards the path of self compassion and some towards paths of self hate. Come engage in experiential exercises and discussion. Come look at your choices and your paths.
Lee Pulos PhotoVisions of the Future Mind with Lee Pulos
In this stimulating and provocative lecture/discussion, Dr. Pulos will take you beyond the self-imposed boundaries of science and will explore and provide laboratory validated evidence of how mind is non-local, how one can change the past, how healing and paranormal abilities can be elicited with Qi Gong and other topics such as remote viewing and precognition. An opportunity will be provided at the end of the lecture for the audience to experience and participate in a remote viewing experiment.

2:30 to 3:00pm - there will be a break for a snack and a chance to chat.

3:00 to 4:30pm - Come Alive Today with Susa Holt & Rick Jackson
See above for description.

Elfi & Gary Opening to Erotic Life with Elfi Dillon-Shaw and Gary Dillon
Erotic energy is akin to 'chi' or life energy. It lives in each one of our cells and serves to stir the desire to delight in life and connect with each other. Learn how spiritual and sexual energy are connected and how we can learn to raise this energy in a conscious way alone and with our beloved. Join Gary and Elfi as they offer you a taste of your erotic potential in this brief but delightful experiential workshop.

Becoming a Haven Intern with Gwen Ewan and Rachel Davey
Joann Peterson, who passed away in early January of this year, was the inspirational Director of Education of The Haven and one of the principle architects of The Haven's renowned intern program. This session, which is dedicated to her memory, provides an overview of a learning path which is unique in its flexibility and the value of the skills learned. Come and find out more with Gwen and Rachel, and Haven interns past and present.
