Symposium Special Edition!
From our early conversations when the seed for the first Symposium
was planted, our passion for these events has been fueled by the thought
of people coming together to listen, ask, discover, discuss, and most of
all connect. Many of you have taken the time to write and call after
participating in courses to share just how much you have benefited from
your experience. We believe our Second International Symposium, April
1 & 2 in Vancouver, is an extension of this, providing a unique opportunity
to learn from, and contribute to, a memorable event. You will be
able to:
-
Hear and meet Joseph Chilton Pearce, one of the great thinkers of our time,
who also happens to be "Joe", a genuine good soul
-
Consider, and offer, new possibilities in a day filled with lively, innovative
and interactive presentations
-
Connect with old friends, and make new ones
-
Share your ideas and experiences, in and out of sessions, in a casual and
stimulating environment
-
Bring friends who may be interested in learning more about The Haven
-
Sit back, relax, take it all in and have fun!
As you read more in this Special Edition Update, hopefully you will share
our appreciation for the thought and care from everyone involved in planning
for the Symposium. In addition to the many hours of preparation by
our faculty presenters, there are behind-the-scenes teams setting up ways
to ensure simple and quick registration; working out the technical planning
for sound and visuals; making plans for easy access to beverages and snacks
and a great Saturday lunch, and scheduling for all the 'whens and hows.'
And, what we are keenly aware of, is that the fundamental key to making
all of this happen is your support and participation. Read on, phone
in, and register today!
A Pearcing Presentation
The affairs of the heart are directly connected to the brain and
it's the heart's natural intelligence that must be unfolded for the brain
to operate with greater efficiency
Joseph Chilton Pearce-part scholar, part scientist, part mystic, part
itinerant teacher
During
his Friday evening Keynote Presentation in the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle
Ballroom, The Heart-Brain Connection: Examining the Biology of Transcendence,
Pearce will explore his most-recent findings and ideas on the relationship
between our heart and brain. Speaking in his typical easy-to-understand
manner, he will explore the idea the connection between our hearts, minds,
and resonance is an intuitive expression from an additional octave of intelligence
that is introduced to the mind through the heart frequencies of love, compassion,
and appreciation.
"The idea that we can think with our hearts is no longer just a metaphor,
but is, in fact, a very real phenomenon," says Pearce, "We now know this
because the combined research of two or three fields is proving that the
heart is the major center of intelligence in human beings. It is
in fact our emotional brain."
For nearly half a century Joseph Chilton Pearce, who prefers to be known
simply as Joe, has been probing the mysteries of the human mind.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!
We imagine it will be quite a challenge deciding which of the nine
Saturday presentations to attend at the Simon Fraser University Harbour
Centre Campus. This dilemma of choice is one of the reasons we are
including ample discussion time between sessions (this way you can share
notes with people who went to the other sessions!). Here are details
on the times, topics, and presenters:

our body, mind, and spirit-transform this energy into life-enhancing passion

The day concludes with time for informal discussion with Joe Pearce,
The Haven Faculty and symposium participants. We are particularly
excited about this open format for the end of the day. This will
be a rare chance for everyone to mix, mingle and connect in the energy
of the day. All the rooms will be open, as will various chat areas
around the facility, making space for endless possibilities. There
is nothing Joe Pearce likes better than opportunities for informal conversation,
and this will be his only time all weekend for this kind of personal connection. |
