In Chinese medicine, many meridians have associated spirits. Shen are the spirits of the heart. The name is used for The Haven's journal to reflect our belief that people are connected through the resonance of the heart. |

Welcome to summer at The Haven!
An important part of July at The Haven is Kids in the Spotlight, with five courses running back-to-back through the month. Nearly 160 children are participating, plus 30 youth leaders. In this Shen there are articles about this course and several others coming up this summer:
Mackenzie Dickson, a longterm participant and now Senior Assistant on Kids in the Spotlight, has written on why the course has been such a success for 21 years. [read more]
Annika Raithby writes about Teens Alive, a set of three courses for teenagers that is unique in the range it offers participants, and with Kids in the Spotlight, is an essential part of The Haven's Youth Training Program. [read more]
