Humour, and it expression through laughter, can facilitate shifts both at the mental/belief level and at the physical/cellular level. The ability to view life with humour allows us to access our energy, insight and creativity. A measure of our depth and breadth as individuals is our ability to laugh at our situations, our world and ourselves.
This is an experiential course offering opportunities to observe, examine, investigate and instigate humour in a myriad of forms such as cartooning, slapstick and improvisation. You will explore, create, play and puzzle with what's funny and what isn't, and why humour is such an under-rated form of therapy! This is not for the faint of heart-be prepared to laugh out loud!
What you will learn
- forms of humour expression
- physiological effects of laughter
- what your sense of humour says about you

"Carole did a wonderful job of demonstrating how we can bring humor into our daily lives for greater health, wealth and happiness."
August 2008
"What I liked most about this course were the other participants and the richness each person had to offer."
July 2007
"What I liked most about this course was the variety of experiential experiences and the wide range of tools and research referred to - also liked the way Carol handled difficult questions/challenges."
July 2007
"The sketches helped to identify where we get stuck. Every individual's sketch resonated for me and I benefited vicariously from their experience. Recognizing where we get stuck will assist me replacing it with humour and amusement."
July 2007
"Thank you Carol - it has gotten even better since the first time I took it 4 years ago - your ongoing research and the addition of having Leslie come have added value to the course for me."
July 2007
"I enjoyed the course. It was very good for me to have a reminder of some of the principles of the "Coming Alive" course I did last year. I can imagine every time you run one it is entirely different from the previous one. I thought you were very skilled at bringing out people's concerns and appropriately dealt with emotions and issues which did arise. You were warm and considerate.
I think it is likely that I will come back to The Haven and may take "Quantum Laugh" again. It would be interesting to see how it changes, and if I see your name on another course, that would make me more likely to attend it."
