As each year slowly and surely brings itself to a close, there is one word that begins to take on special meaning at The Haven. This special meaning has been crafted from a 25-year history of traditions, legends and possibilities. This word has embraced the spirit of The Haven, as each person, every year, in their own way, has come to turn their page, from last to next, in Reflections.
Traditions. Mornings spent together, in loose-knit, self-formed groups; in reflective conversations about what has been, and is, and may be. Afternoons spent in a potpourri of conceivable—and often inconceivable—activities and in-activities. Some exploring and sharing new-found passions, others curled up with a calling book; some creating New Years Eve Follies fun and fiascos, others indulging in oft-dreamed massages and quiet. Evenings spent here and there, each in their own way, each in their own time.
Legends. Some are a one-time event, brought back to life through story and embellishment, while others have become legend through ill-advised repetition that can only be explained as questionable taste or poorly placed blind faith! And some legends are borne of the poignancy of heart-to-heart, and the simple beauty of the human spirit. Each legend of Reflections, whether nurtured with tears of laughter or tenderness, has come to life, and lived on, through the hearts of those who care enough to care.
Possibilities. Each year, for every one of us, we are awash in an abundance of what can be. And as we step into the year to come, what we see is limited only by where we look and what we believe, in the pause of our Reflections. And therein lives the special meaning of the word—the endless possibilities when we look at what is reflected before us.
If you have been to Reflections, come join us again; and if not, come join us this time—each of us, moving forward in Reflection, creating a world of difference, in our own way, together.
