Course Descriptions

Description:
This course is designed for parents or guardians of adolescent children. Adolescence is recognized as a significant developmental period in the context of family and societal pressures. It is also a time of opportunity for parents to experience their own personal development as their teenage children learn and grow. Parent Time focuses on enhancing the relationship parents have with their teens through specific content and experiences about communication, boundaries, parent-teen interaction styles, adolescent development and qualities of being a "steadfast parent." It also includes identifying important personal and family values as strengths that will also support teenagers as they emerge as young adults.

Course Evaluation:
A student/participant who attends a minimum of 90% of the total course sessions shall receive a "Pass" grade. A student/participant who is absent for more than 10% of the session will receive an "Incomplete" grade and credit will not be granted.
