Happiness: A Seeker’s Guide
The Idea:
To flourish, to thrive, to flow, to be in the moment, to accept, to live mindfully and fully, to smile -- whatever descriptor you use - Happiness seems to be the common desire of life, with all decisions, beneficial or misguided, aiming ultimately at this goal of Happiness.
And in our modern world it seems to be very difficult to let go of the idea that changing the outside circumstances of our lives (for example our looks, income, house, friends, spouse, the government etc.) is the recipe to increase our satisfaction, our meaning, our Happiness.
This common mistake is reflected in the belief that, "I'll be happy when... after... and if... - tomorrow, next week, next year…" i.e. when something changes!
It seems that our "Happiness Wisdom", the ability to recognize and act from within our authentic values, has been misplaced and long forgotten in our busy, distracted and externally focused lives. But, it can be recaptured. Perhaps you could slow down, take some time for yourself, discover your relationship to and uncover your potential for this elusive thing that we call Happiness.
Over the last fifty years the level of Happiness in the Western world has not increased, even though our lives are seemingly, much "better" today - this is a puzzle and needs some careful consideration by each person to uncover their particular habits, styles, blind spots, biases, joys, struggles and more.
The Program:
This Haven workshop uses ideas and processes from a range of sources, offering them in an inspiring manner, assisting participants to generate a more effective personal awareness of their Happiness style - along with the possibility of more rewarding choices within their lives and relationships.
Workshop participants will generate their own learning by receiving challenging and informative ideas, through reflection, dyadic and group participation, meditation, gentle body movement and the creation of their own "Happiness Book" -- a concrete record of their experience and learning.
Do it now -- after all, tomorrow never comes!
