Skills 3: Gestalt Plus
The term 'Gestalt' refers to three different things; a practice or exercise, sometimes referred to as 'two chair work', a school of psychotherapy, and the concept of 'wholeness' of a picture or situation. This course examines all three, with most time focused on gestalt as an exercise. Through lectures, discussion, and practice, participants become familiar with leading gestalt exercises of several different types. In addition, students will have opportunity to discuss common issues that arise in leading individual pieces of work.
Students in the course will:
- be able to recognize, and lead several different types of gestalt exercise
- develop their skills in leading gestalt exercises
- learn what to do when work "falls apart"
- practice their leadership skills
- develop greater insight to their own personal issues
