The Key to Successful Leadership in Work & in Life
|
Who should attend:
- People who are in leadership roles and find it hard to get feedback and want an opportunity to get 'real-time' feedback about themselves.
- People who are interested in increasing self-awareness and improve their relationships.
- People who are frustrated at work or at home and want to discover ways they might be able to take more "charge" of their lives.
|
What is Emotional Intelligence?
Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a word coined by Daniel Goleman. Simply put it is one's ability and capacity to identify and manage emotions.
Research is showing that the difference between good and great leaders lies in how well they can handle situations which involve three conditions:
- High stakes
- Strong emotions
- Differing opinions
|
These types of situations demand all of the core competencies of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management.
Unlike IQ, EI is not something we were born with but can be developed. The key to increasing EI is having a desire/willingness to learn, commitment to learning through trial and error practice and an openness and pathway for getting feedback over time.
This three day course will:
- Cover the core concepts and principles of Emotional Intelligence
- Conduct a self-assessment of your current Emotional Intelligence level
- Provide interactive experiences, tools and techniques for building your EI
- Offer opportunities to give and receive 'real-time' feedback
- Support in developing a take home plan to continue building EI at home and work
|
In addition to covering the core concepts and providing interactive learning opportunities, we will invite people to engage in dialogues and discussion about the challenges and demands of leading in today's world.
This course is not just for organizational leaders but for all people wanting to take a leadership role in their personal or professional life. We believe we can, and need to, all become leaders in our lives.
